Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TypeFlow ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TypeFlow is an online typing animation generator that allows users to create customizable typing animations for videos, presentations, and social media content. The Service includes both free and paid subscription tiers with varying features and capabilities.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and to notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.

4. Free and Paid Services

4.1 Free Tier

TypeFlow offers a free tier with limited features and export capabilities. Free tier limitations are subject to change at our discretion.

4.2 Pro Subscription

The Pro subscription provides access to additional features, including unlimited exports, all fonts, higher resolution exports, and transparent backgrounds. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis.

4.3 Billing and Payments

• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law
• You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred
• Prices may change with reasonable notice to existing subscribers

5. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Upon cancellation:

• You will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
• No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods
• Your account will automatically revert to the free tier after the subscription ends

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service to create content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Use automated means to access the Service without our express permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Share your account credentials with others

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TypeFlow and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you create using the Service, including your typing animation configurations and exported videos. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

7.3 Exported Content

Animations you export using TypeFlow are yours to use for any legal purpose, including commercial use. We do not claim any ownership rights over your exported content.

8. Third-Party Content Attribution

8.1 Keystroke Sound Effects

TypeFlow includes optional keystroke sound effects that are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license from MattRuthSound on freesound.org.

8.2 Attribution Requirements

If you export videos with keystroke sound effects enabled, you are required to provide attribution to the original sound creator. This is a requirement of the CC BY 4.0 license under which these sounds are provided.

Acceptable attribution includes crediting "MattRuthSound (freesound.org)" in your video description, credits, or accompanying documentation. Example attribution:

Videos exported without sound effects do not require any attribution.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TYPEFLOW SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TypeFlow and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that we shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which TypeFlow operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall be enforced. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
